“Unfortunately the Conservatives are persisting in their unbalanced approach,� said NDP Energy and Natural Resources critic Peter Julian (Burnaby – New Westminster). “This report confirms what New Democrats have been saying: developing a vibrant clean energy sector in Canada will grow the economy and create jobs.�
According to the report, Canadian clean energy companies are hindered by sporadic government investment and poor government support. To maximize the potential of our clean technology companies the report recommends the development of a national energy strategy, the internalization of costs associated with greenhouse gas pollution, and the recapitalization of Sustainable Development Technology Canada(SDTC).
