IN THE HOUSE ~ Question ~ on Conservatives mismanagement

Mr. Peter Julian (Burnaby—New Westminster, NDP): Mr. Speaker, dirty money seems to be a Conservative specialty.

We have witnessed the Minister of Veterans Affairs boasting about his failure to help veterans.

We have witnessed the environment minster reading a newspaper in order to evade questions about their failure to manage nutrition north while people go hungry in her riding and now boasting about the current government when it has one of the worst environmental records in the industrialized world.

Abject failure on veterans and on the environment.

To the Prime Minister, when will Conservatives acknowledge their many mistakes and when will these ministers start doing their jobs?

Hon. Peter Van Loan (Leader of the Government in the House of Commons, CPC): Mr. Speaker, we are very proud of the record of our government and of our ministers, in particular, who perform very strongly.

What is sad is that in the face of declining poll standings and in the face of very weak policies, the NDP has decided it is, instead, going to resort to a new strategy: the strategy of personal attacks.
