IN THE NEWS - Book of Condolences available at Century House

As we mourn the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, our longest-serving monarch, MP Peter Julian for New Westminster - Burnaby has set up a book of condolences at Century House (620 Eighth St, New Westminster) starting today Monday, September 12 to Friday September 16, from 10am to 1pm.

“Many of my constituents have asked me how they could pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth and extend their condolences to her family. Although an online Book of condolences for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II - Canada.ca is available, many of my senior constituents do not have access to the internet. They are now able to come in person to sign the book of condolences,” stated Julian.

“Queen Elizabeth II visited New Westminster three times in 1959, 1971 and 1983 and Burnaby two times in 1971 and in 1951 when she was still Princess Elizabeth. In 1971, at the age of 9, I danced on May Day for the Queen when she visited Queen’s Park. Many of my constituents told me that they would like to express their condolences. I want to thank the City of New Westminster for cooperating with me to set up the book of condolences table at Century House. Her Majesty's dedication will always be remembered,” added Julian.
